Manila, 11 September 2024 - PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood) has once again achieved success on the international stage. The CFT Roasted Team from the Pati Roasted Business Unit (BU Pati B) obtained the Excellent Award at the prestigious International Quality & Productivity Convention (IQPC) 2024, held on 9-12 September in Manila, Philippines. The event featured 92 teams from numerous countries, such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, and Singapore, making it a highly competitive competition.
The theme of IQPC 2024 is "Human-Centric Quality: Improvement Team Shaping the Future of Work.” This theme underscores the vital role of human-centred approaches in quality improvement, particularly in the era of digital transformation. It emphasizes that, even amid the growing influence of digitalization, the human touch remains a crucial factor in shaping the future of the workforce.
Innovation from Garudafood Delegation - CFT Roasted Team
The CFT Roasted Team showcased an innovative solution by replacing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) with renewable energy, specifically biomass, in their boilers. With thorough preparation and the right strategy, the team's presentation captivated the judges.
Their innovation was designed to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the following areas: utilizing clean energy (SDG 7), empowering communities through the utilization of biomass waste for agriculture (SDG 8), environmentally friendly industrialization (SDG 9), sustainable consumption and production through a circular economy approach (SDG 12), and addressing climate change by reducing carbon emissions within Garudafood's operational scope (SDG 13). By adopting biomass as an alternative energy source, this innovation positively contributes to the environment, society, and the economy.
After two days of the 2024 IQPC, it was time to announce the winners during the gala dinner and awards night. The CFT Roasted Team was successful and honoured with the Excellent Award, the top award at IQPC.
