ESG Insight: Garudafood Kembali Perluas Penggunaan Energi Bersih, Resmikan PLTS Keempat di BU Pati

Pati, 2 September 2024 – PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk (Garudafood) reaffirms its commitment to sustainable business practices based on the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. As a tangible expression of this commitment, Garudafood installed a rooftop Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 682 kWp at the Pati A Business Unit.

This is the fourth Solar Power Plant operational within the Garudafood network, following successful implementations at the Sumedang and Gresik Business Units and the Jakarta Head Office. An additional rooftop PLTS is set to be installed soon at the Pati B Business Unit. With a total capacity of five installed rooftop solar power plants amounting to 3.1 MWp, Garudafood aims to reduce emissions by over 3 kilotons (KTons) of CO2 per year, equivalent to planting approximately 400,000 trees annually. The new rooftop solar power plant brings Garudafood closer to its goal of reducing carbon emissions and supporting environmental sustainability, which aligns with the government's efforts to promote the utilization of renewable energy.

The ceremony was led by Basuki Nur Rohman (Manufacturing Director of Garudafood), alongside Augustinus Winardi (Business Unit Head of Pati). It was also attended by Hermawan Widhiyantara (Assistant Manager of Commerce and Marketing - PLN) and Oky Gunawan (Sales Director of PT SUN Energy), the developer of the rooftop solar power plant.

Garudafood plans to continue expanding its utilization of renewable energy across all its business units. This initiative is expected to benefit the environment while enhancing the company’s cost efficiency by reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering operational costs..
